its already been said but good grief Bulma is such a fukking thot.. 
Its crazy, SSJ2 Gohan would be obliterated in about 5 seconds in this current arc.
Gohan SSJ2 would NOT be able to fight Fat Buu, much less Goku Black
Hell, he would gotten bodied by base for Vegeta at this point

It's true, other worldly power was needed to
Goku didn't know there was a ssj3 but he was able to obtain and achieve that transformation so your logic is flawed.
Gohan didn't. His SSJ2 would be stronger if he kept training, but that's about it. SSJ3, initially, was only learned from otherworld. Gohan and Vegeta had no clue about it.
