My post wasn't in regards to his backstory, but rather the unspoken setup he has with Vegeta. His backstory is Toguro, we get it.

Peep the dynamics between 17 and Jiren though. They ridiculed his wish for a large boat, but the reason 17 even has that as the goal is because he was able to leave his past in the past. Dude was a low-key psychopath who had a kick for murder and a good time. Gave all that shyt up and got a family and a job. Meanwhile, Jiren is stuck on the path and while he has gained strength it's mentally holding back from moving on with his life. If Jiren was ready to let the past go then maybe his wish would be just as ludicrous as a boat.

Just watched again.

I don’t know if the writers did it on purpose, but lowkey they just showed how Goku can win.

17 proved if you time your attacks perfectly, you can catch Jiren off-guard and injure him.

Defensively, Goku’s UI is :wow:. But offensively Whis said Goku is still thinking before striking, so his attacks aren’t as effective as they should be. If he improves offensively with his next transformation, he could potentially pick Jiren apart by attacking where he needs to, between his guard. Even if Jiren is still the stronger fighter offensively, that would make sense. .

I hope they get this right. :mjcry:

The fight between Jiren against Goku, Vegeta and 17 was absolute bum fluff especially the part when Vegeta was supposed to be drained out of power(I guess the writers are on a 'fukk it' mode) The only redeeming thing of this ep was Jirens short backstory and Android 17 using psychological warfare against Jiren basically inferring that he's a narcissist. Also making out that Jiren's past tragedy is no big deal. 17 will be back in the future.

they in their pocket with these episodes now..these shyts been good as hell....thoughts:

-shout out to 17....they've shown great character development with him...and he's been the only one to 'hurt' jiren, and he did it with words lol...

- frieza being the frieza we know and love...saying 'fukk the rules, die muthafukka, die muthafukka, die'....yet, still getting his ass handed to him and laid out somewhere by jiren lol....he gonna really fukk some shyt up when he get the chance....till then, he just gonna be the key to the uni 7 victory...the fact he keep getting laid out and people ignore him till he pop up, means uni 7 will keep that +1 advantage on jiren when time run out...

- while jiren's back story was generic as hell, it did give us a glimpse at the next big, bad villain in dragon ball...that's who the squad gonna have to battle next when the show come back...also, that's gonna be the way the writers get jiren to join/be cool with the squad....them helping him beat whomever/whatever that was...

- think it was key the way they showed toppo looking at jiren while the clown god told the story...he looked pissed and like he couldnt stand jiren....think that's foreshadowing for that heel turn...

- speaking of the next big bad villain, think it's gonna be an angel or GoD on some mcmahon 'it was me austin' type shyt...

....looks like next week is vegeta's last stand...and he going out with a bang...cant wait......till then, another shout out for 17...man did the damn thing in super.....

Vegeta vs Imperfect Cell was THE most singular showing of a sonning the series has ever had. No amount of Perfect Cell vs Vegeta touched that level of fukkery. Especially when we got Final Flash out of it as well. nikkas just saying shyt to say it now.

oh yea: the cross fire from vegeta/17 on jiren; followed up by the goku/17/vegeta 'T' fire on jiren; just to have him withstand all that shyt, fiyaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!
