Bet....for melodic sake check Mary j, total, faith, jodeci, r kell, tribe called quest, grand puba, easy mo b productions, eric sermon and anything he produced or especially remixed....that's just off the top but I'll dig a lil and give ya some better examples later. But while there was a definite hard core element to hip hop r&b in the 90's all or most of the hits of the 90's were r&b smooth melodic radio hits....if u listen to Drake it's clear he had his ear to the speaker in his room during this period. He just gives u all only the melodic and loses the hard core.
