She was at the shoot for NLU with YG. I'm assuming this is what he's referring to.

No man.

She was in Compton the day before "NLU" for an interview with YG.

They put that footage at the end of the video you posted to make it seem like it's the same day.

"And for him to take his biggest moment and decide to hand all of us the baton to be a part of it just shows you what real kings are supposed to do," Jason Martin concluded. "I think [Bobbi Althoff] was there the day before shooting some stuff at Enterprise Park"

If you look she's wearing the same outfit as the YG interview.

I don't understand how you cats are saying she was there for "NLU" when she's clearly not in the video.

none of the big artists in hip hop do interviews with true hip hop media anymore. spec the legacy/ legends

Drake
kendrick
Cole
Eminem
Jay
ect
I get it was a different era and media ecosystem but Michael Jackson did interviews throughout this 1980s peak and into the 90s. Janet Jackson, Madonna...all the people who sold tens of millions of records did interviews. Memorable ones, too. I think it's important that artists speak about art. Do I want or expect any artist to explain meaning, intent etc in an interview? No, of course not. But IMO they have to be present for media in some form.

Especially the way Kendrick spent the year arguing culture is under attack, name dropping Ak as a cancer to culture, etc. We know Kendrick speaks to multiple media people behind the scenes like Letty, Big Boy, DJ Hed, Rob Markman, etc. Somebody deserves an interview. Not to kiss his ass but to discuss his artistry. In a real way...not a corporate way, like the SB media interview he did.

I'm gonna assume you just woke up from a coma because she wasn't in the "NLU" video and never interacted with Kendrick.

Fred.

YG had her out there with him when they shot the video :unimpressed:

Thanks for ignoring the second half of that post BTW.

The fake Kendrick worshippers are still the worst part of this beef

Drake won't do legacy hip hop media because he don't want the hard hitting questions. And yeah I know he did Rap Radar in like 2018 but in 2025 he won't do anything hip hop media unless it's specifically curated to his liking. I say all this as a Drake fan btw.

Drake stay avoiding Black interviewers of the culture.
He’s never liked doing serious interviews. All the media outlets you’d want to interview him would want to ask him questions he doesn’t want to answer.

Trolling and talking about random shyt with a dainty doe-eyed white girl seems right up his alley

Times have changed though, these interviews were helping to sell records/tickets/... in a big way. The way artists promote their music has changed.

They sold tens of millions of records because they did interviews. Nowaydays the best selling artists move units by not doing interviews, playing mystique, etc. They want their fans to discover the meaning, intent of their art..something that wasn't possible back in the day as there was no forum, no reddit, no social media,..

F*ck a rap beef, the worst part of the internet is people that do zero research and just talk.

She was out there with YG the day before doing their interview. She wasn't even in the same part of the city as "NLU". I just posted a link to Jason Martin saying that.

Again, how are you cats saying she there for "NLU" when she ain't in the video? Why would you still be saying that, a year later, besides trying to rationalize Drake's goofy behavior?

And I didn't address the 2nd part of your post because I don't care if Drake talks to "hip-hop media". So why would I care if Kendrick doesn't? You cats gotta stop thinking people care about the same sh*t you do.

difference is Drake has never done interviews with Black shows like the others listed.. he's been protected and done safe shows all his career.

Never been on Breakfast Club, Sway, Big Boy, Hot 97 etc.
