You're confused

It's a Toronto thing only. What does the country have to do with it?

Toronto has one of the biggest Caribbean diasporas in the world. The street culture out here from the 80s on was heavily Jamaican influenced

We all talk like that

:manny:
I don’t care about you weird nikkas and fake accents. Why don’t NY nikkas try to sound like Jamaicans?:unimpressed:

I always wondered this too, when I go to Toronto, all my cousin and his friends use Jamaican slang in their talk even the white people. In NY we say certain words but it's not the majority of the slang. nikkas out there sound like Jamaican leprechauns that went to college

It’s embarrassing. But their country is 99%. They’re dying for some flavor out there :manny:

It's true though

You take two immigrants from the same country and drop em off in Canada and America respectively

Within one generation, the American one will be less likely to keep his culture, pass his language on etc.

That's because 40 years ago Toronto was still a white ass city

Starting in the 70s, the Caribbeans, Indians etc all came. So as a city, in terms of our identity and street culture, it basically came of age during this period where the Caribbean culture was introduced.

In NY for example, there was already a strong pre existing identity and culture, that outside cultures contribute to, but ultimately integrate into
