I will never forget April 2013, late night trapping in Fayetteville, North Carolina. I was 23 years old, had the local radio station on while I was cruising, and they premiered "5am in Toronto" on their 10 or 11pm show...

I'll never forget that feeling and where I was, shyt was amazing from first listen on, and this was really like a precursor to his future aggressive style, signifying the shift from his earlier style...

thought the beat was a goofy ass post nikkas in paris knockoff. still kinda do, but he went in so hard.

“Can I” still sounds unfinished. Curious to know the actual layout for the song.

I don't understand this. Like i feel like im in the twilight zone. People are in here losing their minds over songs...some that are years old being released. I've heard almost every song on this "album" like the delusion is real

It was a good time within music & the Club Paradise tour was arguably the best tour at the time with everyone in their prime (Weeknd, Rocky, Kendrick) with his classic album.

He just needs to get OVO Ron C cuts on streaming platforms now.

My side 2 chopped not slopped > the original.

Madonna with that second verse chopped not slopped > the original.

Actually, IYRTITL and WATTBA are perfect chopped up, not slopped up. Ron C killed it. Even if we can only get OVO albums chopped up I'll be happy. Would be amazing if they could somehow get the blonde one, house of balloons, and other albums up there but idk if that's possible. I see chopped and screwed versions of songs not under the artists' page so apparently you can on Spotify

A lot of people haven't heard these songs in years or ever. You haven't even heard EVERY song on this tape. Plus these songs now being widely available and easy accessible in one collection has us reminiscing.

After some people felt like Views and Scorpion were disappointing, this feels like a breath of fresh air and reminds us all how fuego Drake can really be.

It's essentially a greatest hits of just loosies. Not everyone that likes Drake follows his music super closely, especially when he was dropping random songs at 3am or songs were leaking.

Like this is 10 years old and has less than 300k views on YouTube.

A lot of these songs are kinda the same way. Jodeci freestyle has 1.5 mil after 6 years. Days in the east has 9.5 mil after 5. Paris Morton Music almost has 3 million but that's after 2 years and on his official page. Old versions have less than 3 mil over almost a decade while the official version's music video has 156 million.

So for years, even on Drake's official YouTube channel these songs weren't huge. 5 am in Toronto has 20 mil after 3 years, but his behind barz freestyle has 36 million after a year.

It's easy to forget that while Drake is huge, a lot of people have only heard singles or the real buzzing songs off the album. Not the random shyt he drops in between on the OVO blog. Even on SoundCloud, his loosies do on par or less than somebody like XXX who was hitting 20+ mil consistently and even 70-100+mil on some shyt in comparison to draft days 29 mil or we made it's 31mil - I don't wanna do this anymore has 138million plays. More than a bunch of Drake's loosies combined

So thats probably why people are getting excited about this. People either haven't heard them before or forgot they existed. There is no delusion. Not a lot of rappers could do this and have an actual solid album either. Some nikkas couldn't even do this if they just made a collection/greatest hits of album cuts/singles. A lot of these still sound surprisingly fresh and original in today's climate.

in all of this you forgot that these weren't the mastered versions either until today

a lot of what we had were basically audio rips
