Like I said So Far Gone was the signal that said made way for the next generation of artists. And changed the landscape of both Hip Hop AND RnB.

I dont know why Im still arguing with you B. Your taste is music is  you got it. You win breh . :sas2:

so far gone degraded the quality of mainstream rap, on the same level as father mc meets brian austin green.

That would get him killed in stage

Verses that work in songs don't work in battles
You think so?

I always find myself saying such and such verse would sound crazy acapella in a battle e.g., threats, dynasty intro

And I'll say this again - head ice has spit verses from his songs in some of his early (small room) battles

It's all how u deliver it

Yeah I don't think dope song verses or even cypher verses translate well in battles. I know Ice has but all his raps sound like battle verses so it's different. Especially against someone like Murda Mook who is great at dissecting his opponent.

Because a loss to a battle rapper with no mainstream success will end a multiplatinum rap artist's career in today's rap climate

Just to put things in perspective for you. If you were trolling though, carry on
no troll. mook will smoke drake fukk what you think

1. Based on pure battling: 85% Mook as favorite. Be serious.
2. If its just trading lyrics on wax: Mook probably still a bit better but Drake would get rated higher due to production/prep time. Drake could hold his own though maybe.
3. In a traditional battle venue: Mook wins
4. In a typical concert venue: Drake probably is favored just for # of fans
5. Drake is far from a battle rapper.
6. This is never going to happen.

this post shows me you are out of touch with current music and rap....no way in hell Mook would beat drake on wax..what does Mook have on wax that's even impressive? A lot different than battle rap fam. In a venue where it isnt just bias battle rap fans drake is favored because he's better lol.

Also let me point out...the way you dudes talk about how a established artist would win something because of fans is the same way I think battle rap fans play the bias role and root for their precious underdog battle rap artist..i witnessed hollow drop the worse battle rap bars he's ever dropped and get the nod over budden because of the venue and fans base that already had their minds made up before the battle started...yall are just as bad as the mainstream fans yall like to clown smh.

I say based off of pure pen game drake has just as much of a chance as anyone..just like budden did. Outside of "performance" and being used to how a battle rap crowd plays into battles..im going to ALWAYS favor the best writers..budden and drake are 2 of the best writers in hiphop...imo if these dudes actually did the leg work being engulfed in battle rap culture and living with what it entails...it wouldn't even be close.

That's why these battle rap nikkas usually make horrible songs....they've become engulfed in battle rap culture that they don't even know how to make real music...to me it's 2 different lanes...their song writing gets exposed once they step out that world....mainstream artists are unfamiliar with the current battle rap scene the same way....the only difference is..great writers are more inclined to be able to adjust....Mook can't adjust to what drake/budden do because he can only write battle raps on a Elite scale.

I appreciate the post.

Let me be clear with what i meant on wax. First i said "trading lyrics" as in pure lyrics and battle raps. Mook has next to nothing on wax. Drake outclasses him there and i implied that by saying prep/production. Drake would make a far hotter battle song by most standards but in terms of bars of battle rap in and of itself mook would put a decent effort and perhaps be more impressive on paper, though it might not be up to par with riding a beat, picking a beat, having a good beat, having a hook or whatever.

I really dont even like or check mook that much. Ive seen a bunch of his battles from a while back and know enough to respect dude as a battle rapper. Hes got lines and is fairly clever with them too. Hes pretty good at what he does. Idk what type of point you were trying to make about fan support. Ur telling me the fans in a typical drake concert venue arent going to cheer more/hype drake and respond to bars of his more than what mook would do? And im not into the indy rap scene much either so?

In a typical battle venue, mook wouldnt have to adjust. It negates your point. Itd be up to drake to both adjust to the venue and format and outbattle a fairly top notch battle rapper. What sense is there to say ud favor the pen game "outside of performance and being used to how a battle rap crowd plays into battles" when if an actual battle takes place, said pen gamer will have to perform and know how a battle rap crowd plays into battles? Is mook going to rap a verse in front of drake then drake will play an audio of his first verse of a song while standing and looking at mook? Shakespeare was a playwright, that doesnt mean he'd be able to be the lead guy in Hamlet breh
