Thats what everybody involved was SUPPOSED to do. I don’t get how an established star artist releasing a mega hit song doing a televised concert could possibly be used against said artist or the company who sponsored it especially when the last time they sponsored that artist it ended in the biggest grossing hip hop had ever seen to that point.

So I don’t see how Mal pointing out that Kendrick & his team are great businessmen helps any of his arguments.
To me it feels like the same genre as tge white woman "Why are you so obsessed with me" argument. Trying to salvage a loss by acting like you're so important when the reality is you got embarrassed

Did mal really say drake aint lose the battle, the battle lost him?

Thats just the internet lying again. Cant be. No one would utter that bullshyt and be a serious person.

I’m not sure to be honest I didn’t even watch it. I just saw someone on Twitter say that.

He didn’t say it was the only reason he “could” get a pop out. He said it was the reason he DID get a pop out. And anyone who thinks any different is fukking retarded. They absolutely capitalized off him being scorching hot off the beef and having a west coast anthem.

He didn’t need the beef to get his next concert streamed on Amazon music. Lol.

He didn’t. But it was used, the whole energy for that pop out was surrounded by the beef and west coast “unity”. nikkas being disingenuous. The pop out show would not have happened at that point in time if not for the beef. It could have happened. But it wouldn’t have. The timing was due to the beef.

Yes Kendrick Lamar capitalized off of the beef but who wouldn’t if they won?

Drake did the same thing when he beat meek :manny:

Nas did too.

50 did too.

Why wouldn’t they lol

They can, nothing wrong with that. But just like with Family Matters, the most militant Takeover fans rely on some ridiculous talking points that just aren't true.

"Takeover was facts, Ether was lies"
"Takeover is a real diss, Ether is a bunch of jokes"
"Ether didn't have any bars"
"The beat ruins the song"

All that shyt has been repeated ad nauseum by the Hovenger Defense Force - Guru, Clark Kent (RIP), Mal, etc. Like I said if you fukk with Takeover more, that's fine. But I'm not letting you get away with arguing Nas only had one good/hot album by 2001, or "you made it a hot line I made it a hot song" or the publishing duck tales. I know you know I'm right @spliz lmao

And I feel the exact same way about Family Matters. It's the same type of arguments, where nikkas know they got cooked so they start whipping out legal technicalities. You say he out rapped Kendrick yet none of those amazing bars stuck. No one can deny that Takeover had some undeniable bars that people still quote today, regardless of the validity. Where's that for Family Matters? Drake has more memorable disses on that shyt aimed at Weeknd than Kenny. But because his camp is full of yes men nobody convinced him to focus on the ONE threat and ignore the sheep.

100% The only thing that stood out to me from Family Matters - in general - was the second part where Drake was going at the Weekend, ASAP Rocky and Rick Ross etc. I was like :ehh:

But the parts aimed at Kendrick were either :unimpressed: or :dahell: (wife beater allegations out of nowhere??)

End of the day, numbers don't lie. Family Matters didn't stream as high because there was nothing in there worth going back to for repeated listens.

Same with "Push-Ups" which is pretty much entirely forgotten :mjlol:

None of the disses Drake dropped has stood the test of time. Battle rapping just isn't his thing.

Oh, OK. I’ll be honest. I didn’t watch that shyt lol

I just post and create chaos so that stans can fight against each other.
Yea nikkas arguing with me in here just for pointing out the fact that DJ Hed was being disingenuous. lol. Mal himself even said it was a good business move. All I said was I expected Mal to be more belligerent and insufferable but DJ Hed was literally just there for nothing. lol.

The nikka literally said people call him pretentious all the time in his personal life. And it shined thru. U gonna take the interview? Allegedly they say they cool wit each other. Just to be a dikkhead the whole way thru? The whole interview was pointless cause they both dikkriders for they side. And Mal is one of the biggest dikkriders on the internet. So I’m not even defending him. But I’m just pointing out something happening in this interview that most people ain’t gonna point out. Honestly Rory said the best thing in this whole interview. The battle was terrible for hip hop. And I agree 1000%.

If you've seen him on that show with Elliott yea...he's a dikk. That's well established. But I feel that's refreshing in an era where everybody is pretending to fukk with each other.

Another thing about the pop out...I don't think Kendrick pulls that off without the perception that Drake clowned the west coast on Taylor Made. That shyt was a massive miscalculation, I said it at the time. I'm not even sure Kendrick comes up with Not Like Us without that.
