Dont ask me how I know this. But Drake "creative wise" has the best possible deal EVER. Baby and Wayne pretty much let Drizzy run his shyt like a independent. Even them funny style singles, its not a label thats forcing him.
The type of deal Drake has with Young money is on some once in a lifetime shyt. Universal sometimes interviens and pulls rank. But for the post part, after his 1st album, Baby and Wayne have been lettin Drizzy run wild. Thats how he is able to drop singles out of the sky and shoot videos on his own and shyt with no clearance.
A prime example is the whole Marvins Rooms, Free Spirit, Trust Issues era. Drake was doing that all by himself with 40. On sum chillin with ya homeboys, pull out a lap top, record a song and put it on ya blog type shyt. Only artist that can pretty much bypass the label are cats like Kanye n Jay. Even 50 n Em gotta follow protocal at interscope.
Edit: For Drake to be a relatively young n new artist, his amount of flexibility is unheard of. Even cats like Future dont got that freedom, which is pretty much why Epic shut down his whole "Super Future" double mixtape. Notice how Drake stopped releasing mixtapes. Its cuz his deal allows him to enter album cycles at his own will and space, the label backs him on wateva he does. There is no need for mixtapes anymore

Also notice how ever since The Weeknd got signed, alot of shyt for him has slowed down significantly. Sometimes signing directly to a label jus aint the move. Them white executive cacs dont kno how market a arist the same way a fellow artist in your same age range can.
