Algorithm and Playlist streams do in fact count for album sales but the ratio is different. Any stream over 30 seconds counts ,even if the user didn't actually select the song. It's usually around 1500 on demand streams and 3-5k Playlist, radio, algorithm streams per sale for singles. On Spotify, the algorithm accounts for 60-70 of all percent streams for all artists big or small. This is how even D list rappers have gold and platinum plaques now.Yes it is...those streams you're talking about aren't taken into account for album sales calculations![]()
Bot streams don't get removed for major label artist. For one it's way harder to detect when mixed with organic traffic and for 2 the labels have stake in Spotify. For $2000 I can make any artist trend on YouTube, for 30k I can get you a gold plaque. It's very simple you just have to send enough organic traffic for the algorithm to pick it up,then you bot it more . Then the algorithm really pushes it and then they stop the botting and let the algorithm take over. This all timed perfectly and it goes virtually undetected. None of these artists are as popular as they seem. Drake ,Cole, kendrick get more organic traffic than most rappers but even their shyt is botted. There's a reason why apple doesn't making streaming data or monthly listeners public. That's why they pay the highest royalty rates.I don't think you understand how that works...
There's a reason if album units under streaming era is considered as much harder to reach nowadays, and there's a reason if streaming is considered as a better metric to track how music is being consumed.
1500 on-demand streams (with a premium account) or 3750 streams from certain streaming services = 1 abum sale. They remove fake views, bots and all that crap...matter of fact, they don't even take into account streams pulled through free accounts. They don't even count playlists and all that crap either...
So basically, if you pay spotify 20 dollars a month, you would need to stream music 1500 times for it to be consider as 1 album sale for the charts.
An album pulling 200k first week in today's age, is a lot more impressive than another artist pulling 200k first week in the 90s...because it means it was being consumed (by way more people) and replayed way more

Eazy E sues Sony Music, others
Eric (Eazy E) Wright, one of the founders of the rap group N.W.A and the head of Ruthless Records, has filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit that charges various incidents of racketeering, extortion and money laundering in connection with a contractual dispute between Ruthless and Sony Music.variety.com
Named as defendants in the suit, filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, were Sony Music Entertainment; Death Row Records (owned by Andre Young, aka “Dr. Dre” of N.W.A, dikk Griffey, and Marion “Suge” Knight)
he sued Dre before Dre Day came out and didn’t have to after it dropped because he was already entitled to 20% of every thing generated for 6 years….the work was already done…I can’t say for sure but I’d bet Aubrey would drop his suit for a fifth of UMG’s Kenny related earnings for 6 years

This lawsuit had nothing to do with a DISS RECORD
This threads whole framework is about a DISS RECORD
We not talking about RICO cases and other presumed illegal activities
You Autobots are jumping out the window and grabbing everything off the kitchen table to defend this mutt bytch
The same mutt bytch that fed Dot the information and dared him to call him a PDFILE
I can tell any Autobot defending this soft bytch has the education and discernment of a fire fly
You got it cuz![]()
And you have a reference to BDK in your name. Pathetic.haven’t been following it at all…but if I’m personally in a position that a corporation was promoting around the world that I’m “a certified pedophile” and I have the means to sue, I’m sueing and all other kinda shyt too ….fukk these imaginary hip hop rules![]()
“if you love hip hop let everyone accuse you of a sex crime"And you have a reference to BDK in your name. Pathetic.
Anyone who defends someone suing over a diss track never loved or understood hip hop it was just some trendy shyt everyone was listening to.
Oh and Drake told him to mention it.
Do you know all the outrageous things rappers have said about each other in battles? Should we go over every line ever for it’s “appropriateness?Additionally it’s not as if Lawbrey didn’t have questionable actions on his resume that made it hit harder than it would have if he didn’t. And again you ignore the part where Drake told him to call him that.“if you love hip hop let everyone accuse you of a sex crime"
Insults, not criminal accusations. I feel like I need to keep highlighting this.Do you know all the outrageous things rappers have said about each other in battles? I’m not asking you to defend anything.I honestly can’t even believe we’re having this conversation over suing over a diss track and clowns are really defending it.
Like I said people like you never understood hip hop. Clown.
I’m not arguing with anyone over defending suing over a diss track. There ain’t shyt to have a discourse about. Anyone defending it is as lame as he is. The end. Fortunately most people agree.Insults, not criminal accusations. I feel like I need to keep highlighting this.

Yall act like “diss tracks” are some like foundational aspect of music or something. It’s a byproduct of a genre with no rules. The way you selectively reinforce these “standards” is a bit farcical. Theres no “rap association” regulating thisI’m not arguing with anyone over defending suing over a diss track. There ain’t shyt to have a discourse about. Anyone defending it is as lame as he is.
