OK. Where do you see that? Publishing is one thing. Where do you see Budget? The big tell is that they pay him a studio budget, own his publishing and masters lol. That's a 360. The label is invested in recouping via making the artist more popular and supporting their growth. At which point they hit you with bigger and bigger checks in hope that you continue to allow them to invest/own their career.
Once again there are massively successful artists who have signed similar deals across every genre, I'm not saying it's terrible across the board for every artist. But Drake should have the clout and cash to pay himself an album budget, partner with Roc Nation for tours, and earn as much $ as possible to buy his shyt from UMG instead of allowing that potential purchase price to go up and up. The fact of the matter is he doesn't care, he just wants the headline/big number to brag about. And given that he is ON RECORD saying he does not read contracts and lets his managers sign them...why should any of us assume he's smart enough to reach Hov's level of understanding.

It’s a big deal in the sense he went into a fight leading with this as such public history reveals he’s a victim to horrible deals as well lol. You can’t make this up lol. He dedicated a whole soong talking about push-ups and splits lol…… what world do people live in lolIt’s not that big of a deal. Drake has been with UMG for 16+ years. Of course they own a majority of his work even with renegotiations.
This Ryan Nice guy can’t be trusted. he went viral for confusing ticket prices with the actual processing fee then lied about it when he got caught as if to suggest drake’s tickets were like $20 or something. Dude is a troll.
Drake has a deal. It’s clearly a favorable one. It’s a big deal in the sense he went into a fight leading with this as such public history reveals he’s a victim to horrible deals as well lol. His deal ain’t favorable lol. That’s what this is about lol. They working that boy like a slave when he would rather be hiding in a mansion fukking back page girls lolDrake has a deal. It’s clearly a favorable one.
FFS Taylor Swift still has a DEAL.
Kendrick has a deal.
Unless you’re doing Roc Nation Distro deals then I dont wanna hear none of this boss talk.
OK. Lets clear this up.
He’s not indie. So yeah, he doesn’t own everything from here to the fukking moon.
What are we talking about?
Brother, they own his likeness and image. Anything Drake does they get a cut off during the contract. Literally a 360. This isn’t debatable.OK. Where do you see that? Publishing is one thing. Where do you see Budget?
“the bulk of his recording career”… Drake basically took off in 2009. I’ve known about him since 2007. Bulk could mean up to 2018/2019 if we’re being honest. Or it could mean 99.4%. We dont know what things currently stand at.
This is all I’m saying.
I’ve heard from interviews over the years that his touring is largely owned by him I think he has his own stage team or something wild.
Again, all speculation.

Besides the music do we ever ask ourselves why do we care
This ain’t hip hop
We talk about court shyt and 360 deals and tour dates so much here man lol

I mean tbf Hov been signing deals like that tho. His roc nation deal is set up they way.It is a big deal. It confirms he's still in a 360 and took the exact deal Hov clowned people for taking years ago. Big up front number with no real ownership. Which confirms why he's on tour and dropping albums every year now.
I'm not inherently opposed to a 360 deal depending on the artist. But you cannot pretend to be Hov while on that contract.
