Complex Magazine just posted an article about a Drake billboard, which they received from Word On Road, the official Drake fan site. It matches his digital cover for the song “Days in the East”… what can he possibly be planning?

Drake likes to put out Billboards in Toronto often, usually near the Molson Ampitheatre, where he hosts OVO Fest. He’s had a City of Toronto billboard, anOVO Omega billboard, and the infamousStarted From The Bottom billboard, which he danced on in the music video. The first two were put at Exhibition Place’s Dufferin Gates (Dufferin & Springhurst), and the latter was located for months at Strachan and Ordinance. In the present time, it’s been replaced by an advertisement that’s shilling new condos.

…sorry, Ladies and Gentlemen. I was bored and had my camera with me and Photoshop at my disposal. This used to be a Drake sign, but it isn’t in the present day. Of course, he could be going somewhere with this project, and we may even see a new billboard soon enough.

By the way, the “6″ probably refers to Toronto’s area code overlap; it’s the start of 416, and the beginning of 647. Anyway, my point is not to trust everything you see on the internet, especially one that originated at a random post on KanyeToThe.

This applies especially to Complex; who I know has writers in Toronto that could’ve done a simple verification instead of writing an article about a repost of an Instagram that was taken elsewhere. At least in the case of Word on Road, their staff isn’t exactly local (most if not all I believe being based in the US), and it’s a story regarding the niche topic that they cover, unlike a magazine that covers hundreds of topics at a time.

Point being; fact checking is great, sorry to everyone who bit, but verify before you spread. It’s not about being first; it’s about being correct.
