Not exactly, I think Nas's original deal was for 5 albums because After Stillmatic he resigned for 3 more. This was during the time when he could've left and signed with Murder Inc but instead instead resigned with Columbia. Then when he tried leaving to Def Jam the argument was that the Illmatic 10 Year anniversary reissue, and Streets Disciple (double album) counted towards his 3 album deal. They ended up working it out that DJ and Columbia split the promotion and profits of Hip Hop Is Dead and Untitled. Def Jam had sole rights to Life Is Good and Universal distributed Distant Relatives
