Judges do this shyt all the time as I mentioned before - federal courts do not like to slow that their process even if what they’re doing makes no sense. Drake’s lawyer is trying to win the PR battle but the motion is still out there. They’ll just stall on the whole discovery process.

I’m saying UMG will not schedule anything with anyone important and will file motions so that whatever is exchanged is under seal or just won’t hand it over and argue that it’s irrelevant and make the Court force them to do it. I’m not talking about staying discovery - I’m talking about the actions they will take in response. This isn’t Drake getting to depose a bunch of people tomorrow doofus. And they will literally just depose Drake as well when it comes down to it and his testimony would end his case. Do you think Drake will admit under oath that he himself engaged in payola when they bring up all of the things they did for him? You think discovery works one way? The whole legal strategy is piss off UMG enough to settle to make it go away.

They don’t actually think they can win this on the merits or at trial in NEW YORK. You guys are finding wins out of rudimentary preliminary motions when nothing has been done in this case. These motions are literally about whether they can pause the case while the judge decides the motion. It’s literally a result of the judge scheduling discovery before they even got to respond to the complaint and now the judge doesn’t want to admit to being a dikkhead by doing it, which isn’t an efficient use of the court’s time. Maybe I should create an actual social media presence because Meghan getting press releases sent to her is insane.
