I didn't even know how to respond to it....I raised him better than that

He was really sitting there trying to tell me Drake was bigger than Pac ever was when Pac was a global superstar before he died, had kids in Africa without cable or phones knowing all the words to his songs and selling 9x platinum while he was still alive. When I brought up Pac having multiple classic albums and Drake having none, he went wild and the convo just went left from there. He aint even that much younger than me. I'm 28, closer to Drake's age than he is but, our opinions on hip hop couldn't be more different

I don't think that's an excuse cause he basically made a statement without making sure he knew any facts he just said it on the basis of him being too lazy to read up on the pac influence (which is crazy cause you can find more newer rappers inspired by pac than drake even now)

Obvious the point has no credibility, but even if Drake was "bigger" I.E. more famous, what is that significant of? Psy's Gangnam Style has more views that any Tupac music video or song on youtube, but what is it indicative of other than it's popularity? Nothing. It literally means nothing else.

He's young and naive. He's in the moment of enjoying his favorite artist(s)' music. He's gonna make statements like that if chooses not to go back and dig into music from the past. It is what it is.

This has been proven to be wrong over and over again but people say it. There's an active thread of Nas putting Drake in his top 5. Meeek Mill put Drake in his top 3. Many hip hop people have said they're fans

Drake isn't better than 2pac but there are ways he's biggerZ (chart performance etc)

2pac is much more than Music though. He's a black icon
