I'm starting to realize the lawsuit was never about Kendrick in a sense. It's a self preservation lawsuit.
"You want to expose me and the dirty shyt I did? Well I'm gonna expose how the industry really works."
He don't want to go out like Puff.
Well. Yeah.
But he had to do something cause after he saw how the Grammys and The Super Bowl was going to go, then…what else could he do? And after what Conan pulled at the Emmy’s, it’s clear they want him out of here…but I still wonder what they think they know versus who is really pulling the strings here. It’s like, is this preordained and more advanced than we really know? Whats the end goal here?
I still maintain Kendrick got the “go ahead” to do this. I’ve felt this way since he was dissing Drake and baiting UMG not he Beyonce’s “America’s got a problem” remix. People signed off on that.
No serious person is going to just sit there and allow that narrative to spread without SOME push back. Anyone saying “disappear for a while” is fooling themselves. They wouldn’t do it.
If Kendrick had just called him lame/corny/unoriginal/untalented/etc, drake would be fine. BUT…that other aspect kendrick introduced has led to this slow bleed that is just getting out of hand.
…which is why the Taylor Made freestyle is so interesting. It’s like he feels he’ll be vindicated which is why he played with that angle…but was he unprepared for dealing with that angle or was it a gamble that he overestimated? …which, again…if you didn’t do anything, of course you’d downplay it, right?
