I don't listen to rap but I love Drake. Why? Because his music transcends the genre. I know a lot of people who don't like rap but fukk with Drake.

I would disagree, there have been other rappers with similar appeal over the years.

Snoop Dogg (white people love him)
Biggie
2Pac
A Tribe Called Quest
NWA
Public Enemy
Outkast

And still moved the needle.

Drakes appeal comes from being so middle of the line most of the time.

There are lots of reasons why some people could hate Drake or greatly enjoy Drake based on musical preferences. And you can argue until you are red in the face about who writes his rhymes, if he's jacking other peoples flows or hopping on other peoples waves, and if he does in fact have a concentration camp of writers at OVO HQ. But regardless of any of that, if you take a step back and just look at the final product, I would say Drake is possibly the most polished rapper of all time and I don't think it's really that debatable :yeshrug:

His production is always crisp and his sound is well developed and defined. He does a fantastic job of blurring the line between rap and R&B with his melodies and flows. And he has a great ear for what just "sounds good", as well as an uncanny ability to pick hits and know what type of songs are going to resonate at what times. In a lot of cases, timing is everything :manny:

The problem is that drake is just an entity for a group of people in the background who work to make hits for him

That's because his musical content is very basic in terms of how relatable it is..

His content is basic shyt everyone can relate to : mostly relationship problems
