that loiter squad skit with jj fish and young nikka rappin in the booth off his blackberry immediately made me think of drake lol

that bein said id rather listen to a drake record than lupe record

lupe is on some dave chappelle type shyt-- fame made him lose his mind and he' halff crazy and half worthy of listenin too but not the same as he used to be

Sounds like a celebrity muslim trend :ohhh:

OP is a Papoose fan

Ofcourse he would think that a MC should be judged on whether or not he could drop a hot freestyle :mjlol:

If you want to keep it 100, the ability to freestyle is not the defining attribute of what makes an MC.

That's like saying, " you're not a real basketball player cause you can't shoot three's.... you're just a nikka on the court during the game"

applaud him for dropping a top freestyle in the shows history, but don't be a fakkit.

While I agree with your general comment and analogy, I think a separate point needs to be included here. The ability to freestyle is not required to be a great rapper, sure. But the complete inability to recite your bars without reading them suggests that you are not a true MC. At least to me. When I think of rappers in a traditional sense I think of people who WRITE their lyrics and can rap them in rhythm. Drake likely didn't write that "freestyle" and couldn't even rap it. That's not an MC...

Is Drake an MC now in 2016 that he can (presumably) remember enough unreleased lyrics to freestyle live? I suppose. But the fact that he doesn't write will always sully my view of him. Yea he can rap but he's one of the most one dimensional rappers I've heard. He has one flow. For contrast Nicki Minaj breaks out three separate flows on that song with Beyonce (I'm Feeling Myself).

These different types of rappers.

I see no argument here. Nor do I think ppl write the majority of drakes rhymes. Maybe here and there but in totality nah. Most of the time the rhymes are too weak for me to even think of a ghostwriter and Quentin Miller ain't even nice either so nah.

If Drake uses ghostwriters for his chart topping hits then *ye shrug*

Personally the only drake songs I thoroughly enjoy are his time stamp + location joints.

This nikka Drake said "oh you want me on my gritty" and scrolled down to another verse :deadmanny:

Drake is a studio rapper...he's not an MC, u can tell look at how scared and uncomfortable he looked when Flex threw a scratch or 2 on that Incarcerated Scarfaces beat.
