Everybody keeps saying he should’ve gone the 90s early 2000s style for the video. dawg… he doesn’t know what that is. He never experienced it. In 2000 he was 14 years old. I tried to google Drake at 14 years old and Milly Bobby Brown links keep popping up. Annoying smh.
It’s not that he was 14 years old in 2000 (I was 13), it’s that he was 14 in 2000 in Canada as a little Jewish boy.

The music bed indicates the video would be more lively; colorful and fun. I was expecting comedic interludes

The choreography looks like a derivative of Kendrick's shyt + the owl references.

Seems like a squandered opportunity to move on.

So are we gonna conveniently forget that this video is similar to Hotline Bling, which came out in 2015 :snoop:

It's not for me in the slightest. I'm not gonna get too deep and make the obvious comparisons here but the first time I heard the song it felt highly derivative like he was chasing a specific song/ sound/trend and now seeing the video it's much of the same. Whether it's thinly veiled mocking or trolling or just poor execution, it just isn't that good.

I think he needs to go back to the drawing board (or the writer's guild) and get his groove back soon otherwise he's outta here for good relative to his peak.

This might explain why UMG is so hesitant to do another deal. For the kind of money he's probably asking for they want him to do more

Damn, and Nokia in itself isn't doing that good numbers wise either. I didn't know Drake was struggling making hits like that
