It took awhile for Drake to score his first No. 1 song. Now, it seems like it will take a monumental effort to dethrone him. The Toronto native’s dominance is becoming historic as Drake became the first rapper and male artist since 50 Cent to simultaneously lead the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 charts for at least three weeks.

The continued performance of Drake’s “One Dance” single on the Hot 100 and his Views album on the Billboard 200 chart earned him this special distinction. 50 Cent achieved this feat over a decade ago with the song “Candy Shop” and his sophomore album Tha Massacre. Drake is the first artist to score this honor since Adele did so during this past December and January with her hit single “Hello” and 25 album.

The success of “One Dance” and Views might make one think that Drake would take it easy. Instead, the OVO Sound artist has been doing the exact opposite. The past couple of days have seen Drake releasing a few new tracks as well as some unexpected collaborations.

Last Friday (June 3), DJ Khaled debut a new record with Drake called “For Free” which will serve as the lead single to Khaled’s upcoming album Major Key. That was only the beginning as OVO Sound Radio would then premiere a new Gucci Mane song featuring Drake titled “Back on Road.” That was followed up with a solo joint called “4PM in Calabasas” which prompted a lot conversation on social media. All of this was capped off with a remix of Drake’s “One Dance” by Justin Bieber that should only boost its staying power.

I was in LA and NYC the last few weeks and every where I went I heard Drake. Clubs, driving around, malls, retail stores, all playing Drake. His new shyt and old shyt and I don't remember hearing anyone else as much. One Dance, Work and Controlla especially... they killing those joints but I was hearing 10 Bands and Energy and other joints all over.
