It was probably the Loso's Way: Rise to Power mixtape was the last joint of his that was a must listen.
There is no competition series, soul tape series and summer time shootout series were all dope and I enjoyed the young og project thoroughly and those were all fairly recent

Nah Drake had way more musical diversity than Budden, he took a lot from Buddens relationship raps obviously, but I always feel like Budden didn’t have the right ear or pulse for making good music, Drake had an ear for that more comparable to LL and Fab.

I think that’s what let Budden down in the end, he didn’t have a great musical ear, he was a good rapper, but if he made more songs like ‘All of Me’ and Up in the club with Marques Houston his career would have gone further.

Funnily enough Budden is who actually introduced me to Drake on those little video podcasts he used to do back in like 07 he was a big big fan before it became cool.
I don't remember Up in the Club being something people praised Budden for doing.
Thrived off mixtapes where he could express a lot more creative freedom

Other than breathe I can't think of any essential radio singles under fab's belt but I can name multiple must listen projects
I don't think creative freedom was an issue, or if it was it was self-imposed. He wanted a particular formula for albums.

I know and people never praised Nas for You Owe Me, but these are some of the tracks that casuals and females will be drawn to, many on here don’t particularly like the popular Drake tracks but you do them anyways,

Nas and his lane was already established outside of You Owe Me type tracks, that's not comparable. Now if Up in the Club was a smash and dudes was rejecting just cause then maybe but it's a stretch given that it wasn't.

This is cool, but remember when he offhand deadly dissed Fab in an interview? Saying something about a corny rap "sounding like a Fabolous bar"
