My guess is Summer 16 was supposed to be the big single but since it didn't really catch on it changed the rollout. Like if Summer 16 was still hot, people would probably enjoy these songs more

I would argue that you're reply is an even simpler view than what you incorrectly interpreted my point as, but in either case you are incorrect. Honey Boo Boo (using your example) is a hit because it's a train wreck; nobody watches that show because she's an enjoyable young lady. Popularity doesn't mean quality


My point had nothing to do with just hearing Drake's songs on the radio; the Payola scandal proved the right amount of money will get anything spins. My observations was that the people I saw riding around listening to the tracks seemed to be enjoying the music while the Coli would have you believe it's hot and everyone hates it....


And for what it's worth, not only are there several different radio stations you can flip through when a whack song comes on, there are like 10 different ways to listen to music in most modern cars (bluetooth, Satellite radio, etc). Even if "the powers that be" are trying to force songs down your throat from artists they want to push, they can't prevent you from turning to something else

You seeing people riding around listening to the songs means absolutely nothing. I don't understand how The Coli can say Drake sucks....and it's "not reality"....but people can say "I hear the song EVERYWHERE!" and it's supposed to mean something. Nah, Summer16 was always gonna be a 5am In Toronto type joint. You can't see Summer 16 getting played on your city's "your home for todayss hiphop and r&b" station at 2pm on a Tuesday can you? That's what Hotline, Hold On We're Going Home, Take Care, etc. are for. Summer 16 shoulda came out as the street single now though, instead of February
