That means he was already a multi-platinum, multi-Grammy winning, Academy award nominated, PULITZER PRIZE winning, superstar. He’s going to get a favorable deal no matter what, which would extend to marketing/promo of his songs. Mr Morale, despite being a very dark, heavily thematic album, received plenty of promotion. Five music videos, of which one premiered in theaters as part of an Oscar campaign, the works. This was the label doing what they were SUPPOSED to do for a premier artist. Drake got all the same shyt for Honestly Nevermind, Her Loss, and For All The Dogs.

Not Like Us got the same promo a hit single does. But it was already being championed by the PEOPLE as the hottest song and knock out blow pretty much the moment it dropped.
