Jay came in really slow and didn't get hot until Biggie/Pac passed away. And even then, he was never officially the biggest rapper at any point whereas Drake was.

Then Kanye took over (04-07). Game was red hot one year (05). T.I. had that one good year too (06). Then Lil Wayne (07-10). Then Drake came in (present) Jay-Z's skill is adapting to new eras/re-branding himself over and over again + his business decisions outside of music. Jay doesn't know what it feels like to be LeBron...because it was always nikkas better than him. Drake does though

Can we stay away from 'What If Land' in this one? You don't know if he would have been hot or not. Jay-z is also a better rapper than those two people but he's not better in your book since you are moving around criteria and goal posts

Jay-z's first 3 albums are better than Drake's first 3 albums. He's a bigger name than Drake right now and a certified legend with TWO classic albums. A lot of people are not still playing Drake albums but people still till this day play songs off albums that came out 15-20 years ago.
