I'm fine with him being in the convo for the same reason I'm fine with Snoop being in the convo for best rappers of all time. Is Snoop high on my list? No, and I ding him for having ghostwriters. But we also know Snoop write quite a few of his best songs but he has to be somewhere on a "best rappers ever" list. Drake writes some of his own songs and we know he's written for other rappers, including Kanye. I respect his longevity, he has a ton of songs I fukk with, I like a couple of his albums.

Interesting thing about that Hot 97 "freestyle" is he's been rapping like that for a decade plus and people still act like it's some monumental thing. I get he has other flows but whenever he gets into his "serious rapper/4AM In Monaco" type bag it's always the same flow and tone. Predictable.

You simply can't call yourself the GOAT when there is an (allegedly) after every "Written by Aubrey Graham".

Y'all can wax poetic about his acclaim, sales, tour numbers, how many bishes he got, his nail polish, shoe deal, whatever...what matters is that for the rest of his career, everything he's put on record can justifiably be second guessed.

Problem is, the standard is so low today for the casual fans. You don’t even have to be authentic anymore or even the person doing the writing for their own songs. All of the rules that applied to greatness in Hip Hop's golden era are always conveniently forgotten today, when they want to give these posers a pass. Dudes always get offended and mad when the bullsh*t is called out, as if people are supposed to stay quiet and let it slide.

And because of this, we see mad wack music being pushed and all kinds of talentless bums being let in. And the culture has fallen off crazily because of that.

Snoop a legend, not because he proclaimed to be but because we all universally recognize his past and current contribution to game. Not to mention his longevity but the fact that he's a legit star.

If Drake still doing his thing and more in 20 years and people want to consider him one of the greatest "entertainers", I would have no beef with that. I say he doesn't qualify to ever call himself the greatest rapper.

Snoop is a legend but not too many people have him in their Top 5 from my understanding.

Drake is a legend as well but that's where it stops for me. The writing team is too much. Same with Kanye.

Drake is considered one of the goats, Meth is considered as a good rapper.. Drake and Meth probably should be on the same level, but Drake has been placed at the top. This doesn’t help Drake lol. I’m not worried about it because it’s too late to do anything about Drake.. he’s like 20 years in and he’s still at the top. Can’t do anything about that now.

A lot of our favorite rappers have gotten 'help'. Its naive to think that Hip Hop is the one genre of music where the artist writes all of their music.

Just be consistent, if he can read from his phone on a freestyle and its okay than its okay for Drake too.
