Yo this is hilarious and all of that but it shows that, hip hop is finally starting to make the turn :blessed:

Each day that goes by, 'Drake' is being expelled from hip hop. It's a beautiful thing :mjcry:
Idk, I don't see this...
It's only gotten worse tbh... People give Desiigner a pass now and shyt... :mjlol:

Not that I would complain about newschool hip-hop overall. I think it's just fine, with plenty of good artists you just have to look in the right places. Hell I even like a few of Drake's tracks even though I'm not a fan of him at all...
But there are no morals or unwritten rules anymore. Biting is allowed, carving out a career based on being soft is allowed, not rapping good or not rapping at all is allowed, beefing only in tweets is allowed, not writing your stuff was a sin now people don't give fukk if it comes out and etc... In a sense social media fukked genres up, in another sense it didn't :yeshrug: If something becomes mainstream these things sadly come with the territory, popularity has it's huge price, especially now in the viral age.

The way that I look at it bro mainstream 'hip-hop' is dead. Like you said you have to go searching for good hip hop nowadays.

But if you look at the Joe Budden situation, Joe came at him with straight bars, real hip hop cats are impressed, waiting to hear a response. Then you have all this twitter bullshyt, and Drake casually saying his name at a concert (I guess that's his response?). The real hip-hop community see's that, they see the corny shyt like dude's going to Joe Buddens house because he dissed Drake. They may not come out and admit it but hip hop community is getting closer and closer to :camby: 'Drake' where he'll be exclusively a pop act.

I wouldn't certainly say mainstream hip-hop is dead, there are some mainstream act I like, like Kendrick, Rocky or Future but I see where you're coming from
With that said I don't think we have to look so deep into the underground for good artists. Gibbs, KRIT, YG, Joey, Vince, Q, Jay Rock, Spitta, Paak, Herbo, Isaiah, Mick... all dope artists and all can be found with not much effort.

I guess I agree with the second part of your post.

i hear everything you are saying, i really do

but Drake is airing Joe because Joe even going at Drake was corny in the first place

and Joe is just corny full stop

so why would Drake engage with a reality tv star / podcaster

in fact, just waiting for Drake to reply is corny

me even pitching in on the debate is corny

the old rap rules are played out i'm afraid

no one wanna hear someone kick knowledge no more unless its real knowledge, and there's very little of that around these days

I ran (walked) up on Joe Buddens a couple of years ago in the airport over some twitter (about to turn to rap) beef. He was with his girl (random video model) and I was at work so things were very cordial on both sides.

Highlight of my rap career that never was was a pretty private moment... if only I recorded that diss track :jbhmm:

and that one dude needs to realize that buying a house doesnt take that many years ... and you can rent it out after you are the owner right?
