Taking Popcaan off controlla is a big mistake, that was a beautiful collabo, it would open drake to a different market, drake getting bumped at bashment yard parties:wow:
Dude replaced him with Beenie Man :dead: Killed all the good will he built with the Caribbeans. What's the story behind it?

if you missed it earlier, listen to Drake & Zane Lowe's hour-long interview on Beats 1.

In case you missed it, Drake & Zane Lowe were originally supposed to kick off Thursday night’s #VIEWS festivities by sitting down for a “major” interview on OVO Sound Radio Ep. 20 at 10:45 PM EST, where Drizzy would premiere his new album for the first live on air, before making it live on iTunes following the show at midnight. Unfortunately, that plan wasn’t executed too well, and the show was almost a half-hour late to start, causing fans to grow impatiently restless. So during which time, Apple decided to turn the tables around and roll out the album first on iTunes instead, resulting with most fans jumping right over to the album stream and leaving the Zane Lowe interview.

However, once Drake & Zane Lowe did start the interview, it was well worth the wait. Chopping it up for over an hour, the 6 God & Zane talked about the creative process of VIEWS, why he left Kanye & Jay off the album, production, making a cohesive body of work, inspiration for the album, and a shyt ton more. He even talked about his relationship with Kanye West, and spilled the beans that the two were supposed to do a project together.

“We live up the street from each other. I’ll pull up at his house and see what he’s doing. We’ll just sit and collaborate, that’s what music is all about. ‘Ye is one of my favorite people. Period. In the world man. I love ‘Ye. I grew up with him [Kanye] as a role model, he is part of the reason I am here right now.”

“We were supposed to do a mixtape together or an album together.” - Drake says about Kanye

In addition, Drake also talked about having plenty more music coming out this Summer, Tory Lanez beef, Lil Wayne & Birdmansituation, Young Money, and his current relationship with Nicki Minaj, which he said is non-existent at this point in time.

"I don’t really talk to Nicki. Another person I have a lot of love for ... She dealt with me how I would expect her to -- with class. I always have respect and love for her. Unfortunately, we haven’t spoke."

If you happened to miss the interview earlier, I highly recommend checking out the full thing (below).

Does he talk about the ghostwriting or nah?

It's like you giving someone your shytty camera and them taking the photos you put your name on, then me calling someone a faggit because they call you a fraud. Stop. Albums weed plate and it needs hate. It's not ultra light beam, it's ultra light queen status. Views from a simp, views from the recycle bin., views from a weed plate. fukk outta here

How can you call someone a fakkit and then listen to this album

I need Back to Back Drake...Expected more.. He might need Quentin brehs :francis:

Starting to realize that if not for the ghostwriters, the PNDs, Weeknds, P Reigns, Mo Gs, no one to soak up the swag from during the sessions...if you locked Drake in a room, based on his life story and the allegations against him, can you seriously say 100% you sure he'd walk out with a banger?

I'm starting to realize that with Drakes initial "lane", the "pseudo-backpacky, College Dropout Kanye appeal, and simp shyt... He might have worn his sound out by now if he didn't reinvent.

Unfortunately, he can't do that, so to respect him as an" artist" instead of just a conduit, a voice, for other peoples art, is arguably fukking.......wrong. Where are the Q. Miller fans. Poor fukk nikka, he does all this and can barely eat off it outside of whatever scraps OVO feeds him.

Think about it. If not for IYRTITL, pr more specifically Quentin Miller, yeah we'd get a Drake album, but not the Drake the trap grew to love, not this "lean sipping, trigger fingers turn to twitter fingers" (the nerve of this nikka lol). That while persona / lazy flow wave was birthed by IYRTITL.

With that being said, Drakes a fakkit, but very, very savvy business move to incorporate writers when you know you're not creative enough to reinvent yourself musically to keep up with the times or lead the culture. shyt is sad, actually. You know deep down he eagle wants to be the best but doesn't feel like his own skill can get it done. But he's a smart Jew. Give him that .

From Take Care to What A Time, every Drake project made you (at least me) think it would be cool to have his lifestyle. This project is on some depressed Joe Budden shyt though. Everyone uses him, they're fake friends, these hoes are troublesome, rap is a hassle and full of snakes. Besides the money I don't want to have anything talked about on this album

you would think an album called views from the 6 (og title) would have a tight concept about where this nikka is from...tales about how the city made him who he is today...but just going thru these songs and thinking back to previous albums....the main topics dude ever touches are past relationships and shyt about his boys that he grew up with or close friends...I have not one fukking clue how "the 6" influenced this nikkas childhood to make him the man he is today.....I literally thought this was the route the album was going but instead it's another ok album with off-key singing about a bytch that he wanted (or had) that got saved by auto tune and depressed flows about nothing I could give a fukk about...you can tell this nikka lived a somewhat sheltered life or it was boring as fukk where he lived....you can't be this predictable with your music beloved...

I'm not asking for street tales either...we all know that's not his steez...but good lord...I could give one of my fav. rappers the title "views from the 6" as a concept and say go to work and I would be expecting some crazy creative shyt about toronto, growing up, influences, the ups n downs....music that make go :wow: this nikka is a problem....I've honestly felt that way about any fo this nikkas music...it just don't resonate with me like that. I just knew this shyt was gonna be lackluster because I just knew that title was just what it was...a title, he doesnt have that "gift" to craft the shyt I expect from "one of the best rappers in the game" type nikkas...

yall enjoy the music tho
A good amount of the songs on IYRTITL fit the theme and concept of this album a lot more than most of these songs, they're better too.
With that said I'm still liking this album, it just isn't nearly as good as TC or NWTS.
