artists need to let this be a lesson, when you delay your album for a year when your buzz is scortching you should just DROP your album with no waiting time. he should of dropped around the time 0-100 was blasting the airwaves, this is by far the most dissapointing album ever.

i don't agree lol
a couple albums i heard and i knew right away were classic and are still classic to me to this day (blueprint 1 being one of them)
i don't think an album can grow to a classic if you don't like it on a first listen
it can grow to be better than you thought tho

Somebody made a good point on twitter. I said I knew GKMC was perfect on listen tho and they said...

"Good Kid Had a traditional sound of what we view as a classic. views in the way it's made is still new and untraditional."

I agree you can tell some stuff is amazing on first listen but it's normally something in the lane of what you usually like to a high standard. Experimental shyt can sometimes take a while to resonate.

For example Yeezus is a PERSONAL classic of mine but I hated it for like 3 weeks until i loved it.
If I respect an artist I've learned to give the music time before I write it off.

Funny i bet you if we found the threads made for every drake album its all gonna be the same "this dude is done" talk.
??? Where did I say Drake was done ? the album is good, nothing exceptional tho.

I've said multiple times on here that Drake doesn't make good albums, he makes good songs.
This album is a bit of an improvment, but it's probably not even gonna be close to top 5 albums of the year quality-wise (it will sell a shytload tho I assume).

Also music hits you differently depending on how you are feeling

Everyone pressed play on this album and Expecting to hear Drake bar out

So when they heard he was in his feeling it was automatically dismissed

of course people wanted to hear that from him, he was releasing that type of music. 0-100, songs from If Your'e Reading This, etc.

This is pretty weak. Some nice beats but the pendulum has swung away from rapping to his singing which is so heavily reliant on automation and Melodyne that it gets tiring over a whole album.

He also definitely missed the boat in terms of hype. If I Released This It's Too Late :lolbron:

How could he have dropped Views before IYRTITL?

I do agree that he should've dropped an album centered around 0-100, We Made It, Draft Day, and Days In The East when he dropped all that and was on fire with no album. He wasted that momentum and could've closed the door on Kendrick & everyone else.

wasn't Views announced a year prior to that? i think he announced it after Nothing Was The Same dropped.
