Look: It’s still early. As I’m writing this, Views is something like 14 hours old. Some of these songs might take a month or two to strike an emotional chord; Drake songs do that sometimes. But after playing it on repeat all day, I have to report that Views is a bloated, self-regarding bore. When the album hit the internet last night, I made it through maybe six songs before falling asleep. That’s not entirely Drake’s fault. I have two young kids, which means that I am always tired. But I can also tell you that I goddam sure did not fall asleep the first time I listened to Lemonade.

There's a LOT of average shyt on here. Like I said I liked 8, there's another 6 or 7 that were just good enough to not have to skip, and the rest were skips about a minute in. That PND track was in the middle.

The thing that I don't understand is when people say shyt like "you have to let it grow on you, you have to really get it, you can't get it after 1-3 listens" and that's true . For albums like TPAB. So many concepts, Easter eggs, hidden meaning etc. But for the most part; Drakes music is really on the surface. What you see is what you get. There's no underlying shyt you really have to sit with. If you don't like a Drake album after 1-3 listens don't force yourself to like it.

Theres no easter eggs on TPAB.

Kendrick is as surface level as you can be. He's not fukking Lupe. Or Outkast. Or even Big KRIT.
