Listened 1.5 times today, plus a bit yesterday. I'll continue to give it spins for an accurate experience but overall my impressions: meh. To me this sounds like Take Care if Weeknd hadn't been involved. The songwriting is noticeably weaker, the singing blends together track to track, melodies aren't really standing out either. From a rap perspective Drake is on autopilot. Even the songs ppl are celebrating like Weston Road Flows just sound like a generic "Drake over 90s r&b sample+reverb+hard drums" song.

I do think the album improves though. Not a fan of the beginning of the tracks but the "summer" phase improves, and I love the Summer's Over interlude. But overall this isn't doing it for me. I thought IYRTITL was dope.

BTW this makes me wonder whether he put out IYRT and WATTBA thinking it would satisfy fans enough for him to release a poppier album.

The beat on 9 is amazing, and same for me I could pick like 5 others as my fav the more I listen. I guess nikkas love IYRTITL Drake more then, because this one has alot more R&B shyt on it, I guess they consider it filler? Idk
When Drizzy decides to rap his ass off it's :ohlawd: and I love that as much as anyone but I prefer this Drake more so it's been a pleasant surprise we got so much of it but when he raps on this he delivers even if it's not quite Trap Drake :wow:

The lyrics on 'Views' are VERY mediocre compared to his last couple albums especially on the R&B joints. He should rap more on the next album because those were the only parts where the writing was actually up to par.
The rap lyrics were a step down to.
That Channing Tatum line :scust:
Toy like happy meal:scust:

Damn this album is :ohlawd:. It's my favorite parts of NWTS combined with that new Drake sound and a little bit of rapping Drake thrown in. The first song took some time to grow on me but everything else is good. Probably my favorite Drake album.
