hip hop is in a different state right now, what people call hip hop these days is what we used to call straight up commercial pop music. Views has very few hip hop moments. there's more singing than rapping.

they ain't lying, album is far from the best of this year. plus we've been waiting this long for a mediocre project. his plan worked cause he's selling 820k first week.
Pretty average album, it has no identity and it sounds too radio friendly. It's a good pre party cd if you want to play rap music but your mom and them are over

What the fukk is he doing? He used to have defined RnB songs and defined hiphop songs, he's not creative enough to consistently merge the different worlds in a dope way like Kanye. Now the album is not wack, however it's just good and nothing more. Imo he's usually amazing, so I was expecting more than a C+. And I might even remove the + for the fact that he has like 5 fillers for birds on it.

When Meek Mill claimed that Quentin Miller was ghostwriting for Drake, it didn’t necessarily negate his best performances on IYRTITL, but did leave the listener wondering, what if? Perhaps that could explain the sheer wealth of faceplant-worthy lines on Views, from ‘Pop Style’s already infamous “got so many chains they call me Chaining Tatum” and ‘Weston Road Flow’s “I get green like Earth Day” through to the title track’s wealth of bricks: “Far-fetched like I threw that shyt a hundred meters”; “Staple in the game / all my papers together” ; “My wifey is a spice like I’m David Beckham”. While the below-par wordplay could be seen as a sign that Drake’s ghostwriters are no longer his woes, the sheer bloat of the album severely exposes his limitations as a rapper.

Im really tryin brehs...Listened to the album everyday since its release...I am a Drake fan...Not sayin this isn't good but...Its like when you been gettin A's in school ya whole life, and suddenly you get a C....Yes you still passed, but you know you can do wayyyyy better...By Drake standards, he coulda gave a better effort, especially with 20 tracks...Again, no he didn't fail, but his potential is way better than this performance..
