To be fair, Kendrick is the only artist to ever crack the code with few songs, I wouldn't expect anyone else to replicate that kind of success.

Honestly Nevermind had 14 tracks sold 200k first week

I would not say it sold that much because of the track numbers but because it was more dancehall, house inspired

Another narrative I see pushing is "No promo", we are in the internet/social media age, you don't need to promote if you are that big of an artist.

"The updated Billboard 200 will utilize accepted industry benchmarks for digital and streaming data, equating 10 digital track sales from an album to one equivalent album sale, and 1,500 song streams from an album to one equivalent album sale"

"10 song sales or 1,500 song streams from an album were treated as equivalent to one purchase of the album"

Billboard then confirmed if your album contain more songs, your fans will give you more streams, reaching that 1500 number quicker.

Multiple people in the industry been taking Drake as the perfect example of an artist usually boosting his own numbers with that tactic.

Twist it like you want, it won't change the fact more songs = better sales.

Do yall have some kind of think tank where you come up with talking points to spam over and over again until it becomes a narrative ?

Streams aren’t dependent on individual songs to where length makes a difference. Listening to 10 songs from an album once is the same exact thing as listening to one song 10 times for purposes of how the sales are calculated. There’s only 24 hours in a day, so unless you wanna argue Drake’s evil superpowers extend to manipulation of space and time to give only his fans more time to stream his songs, harping on this album length thing is stupid as fukk

In reality, the most popular songs of any album are doing the heavy lifting for album equivalent streams of albums of any length. Having some song that no one likes or listens to on an album does nothing for your streams

So you're saying Billboard confirming that having more songs equate to having more albums and Drake does it on purpose is all lies? you're saying the people that hold the charts are lying? and have been lying for years?:mjlol::wow:

just say it like it is, you don't know what you're talking about

I’m saying you fukking bots are intellectually dishonest and either don’t know how streaming works or are deliberately misrepresenting it because you have some weird obsession with Drake or being paid to spam the internet with bullshyt…and should be bushed if we had any kind of serious moderation on this board

This only works in a 1:1 ratio.. but according to you, fans listen to these albums over and over first week.

So:

If you have 1.5 hours to spare

You can listen to GNX 2 times

You can hear For all the dogs one time

GNX songs would have about 2 streams per song

FATD would have 1 stream per song

But the sales would be equivalent

But FATD has 23 shots to have a huge streaming hit as opposed to 12, so that’s the only “advantage” ..and that’s why artists do it

Even billboard debunked the 1:1 ratio bullshyt, that doesn't make any sense in streaming :dead:
It also has an enormous impact on the fact songs different audiences play different songs from the same album, so having more tracks is once again a massive advantage lol

Why do you think the songs generally chart in the same order of the track list? nikkas intros are always the top listened to songs for like the first few hours

Because people are playing it straight through…
and the overall individual streams tail off after a while whether you have 7 songs or 26 songs ..people check out after a while due to time or fatigue

But the songs that stand out mess up the order and become what carry the album…and that’s the point of having more songs

All this longer albums = more streams talk can be deaded easily.

Scary Hours 2 first week sales was 970k with just 3 songs.

The reality is you can spin these shorter projects far more times before you spin a longer project once.
