After seeing this I believe he lays down the concept of the beat. Makes a foundation than someone else refines it. Kinda disappointing to see another guy on the keys making those sounds, but who knows.

I don't even think Kanye lays drums anymore, I think he literally just directs a team of nikkas what to do.

Anywho it's amazing to see how the the keys completely transformed the whole vibe of the song. :ohhh:

Dude on the keys basically made Good Life to me lol first time I saw that it raised a bunch of red flags. And you're probably right about him directing people because it seems like that was the whole concept of ultra light beam but regardless that song is amazing.

Who is the other rapper from ATL that QM is talking about around the 16:50 mark in the interview?
Edit: Nevermind. Vlad just dropped his name just moments later. :dead:

ye is a highly resourced beatmaker who earned being able to make production credits under the guise of what the rap industry calls a producer.

real talk,....some guys who make rap beats know keys and how to play.
yet, most are all peck and find type guys.

you don't have to be a classically trained music professor to make rap beats.
although, ye has a classically trained art background...i am not sure it extended to music, tho.

i could be wrong, but real talk.....trying to use this as a slight is wrong.
you would need better footage like someone else bringing ye the actual loop and then sequencing or programming the pattern and record.
like when tip was in the studio makign beats with ye.

As much credit as he thinks he deserves you'd think he does everything himself. Who knows how much of the actual beat he refines but what we do know is he has other people to write his lyrics so it wouldn't surprise me if he had another team for the music.
