That was some horrific singing that I know was done to try to be a viral/meme/IG caption trick, but I’m not sure if it’s going to work. It was a complete chore to try to get to Drake’s verse because of that.
1) not gonna listen to the song if I can help it.
But.
Saying the song is trash, to me, means absolutely nothing. I say a lot of y'alls favorite songs of the new millennium are trash. HAS NOT stopped them from blowing up. The majority of contemporary rap "artists" are wack and the majority of the actual songs are wack.
2) Rap battles can destroy an artist. JZ strangely survived his L, but plenty of others have not.
Drake even "lost" before, but he didn't suffer any setback commercially.
This battle between K Dot and Drake was amazing. Drake is battle tested actually, and he has a lot of guts. He tried to hang in there and he had some heat.
But Kendrick might have ended this freaky azz niqqa. The phrase "freaky ass niqqa" is a thing now.
This battle is one of very few "real Hip Hop" moments in this 21st century.
But.

It's going to be interesting seeing how Drake and his handlers navigate thru this current situation he's found himself in. I been saying for years that he's going to get back into acting heavy when he falls off...I still think that's coming in the next year or 2.
