You wilding bro.. I agree that Draymond aint guarding no fukking Centers(), he can still guard 1-4 pretty effectively. And the GSW aren't in the same stratosphere as those Detroit teams defensively. Those Detroit temas were some of the best defensive teams ever.

But we've seen Draymond guard centers. I didn't say he was stopping Boogie, but he does and does a good job on others. Did Ben guard perimeter players effectively?

I'm not making an excuse for Draymond not winning DPOY. He had the most first place votes one year but didn't win it. We also talking about Ben Wallace's career while a Draymond is still young.

Golden State is a defensive minded team but they play uptempo. The Pistons were a slow it down, grind it out team with five guys who could play good defense. Golden State are not like that (Curry is an adequate defender but he not Chauncy Billups). The defensive metrics won't favor Draymond because of that unless we can find someone to adjust them.

When Detroit played more uptempo under Flip Saunders, Wallace wasn't as great a defender. (Was also older too, in fairness)

Saying that, Draymond is a much better player than Ben Wallace.

that detroit team WAS beastly, im not disagreeing.

but ppl talkin like this GSW team are defensive scrubs w/out draymond. klay and durant are great athletic defenders themselves. this gsw is tops on most of the defensive metrics, and thats not exclusively due to draymond.

i think draymond is the better player, and is more well rounded.

ben wallace was a one trick pony, ALL he could do was defend. but he was a hell of a rim defender

Dray will win this year and he might win one or two more in the future though. Shoulda had one of Kwhais too

Draymond is better and in no way is that a knock on ben wallace.but hear me out. Ben had the intimidation factor and was a great rebounder and shot blocker. but thats it. Ben couldn't shoot free throws,was HORRIBLE on offense and honestly wasn't this great one on one defender. I watched Draymond hold his own against Anthony davis the first year they won the ship. Draymond gives you scoring, passing and he can get rebounds and assists. You talk about a system player notice how Big ben sucked in Chicago and Cleveland.
