Flu deaths in 2018 = 35,000

COVID deaths in 2020 = 350,000

Flu isn't as deadly, therefore, no mandate.

those covid deaths occurred during an unprecedented national effort to social distance, wear masks and enforce capacity limits in businesses.

the death toll could have easily reached the millions had we moved about like it was the flu.

This is not true. The flu has been doing that for years (depending on the season)and it has never caused a vaccine mandate. And there still isn't one for the flu.

Matter of fact, it happened just three years ago:

California hospitals face a 'war zone' of flu patients -- and are setting up tents to treat them

Now please direct me to your posts from the Coli in 2018 calling for a mandate for flu vaccination along with your outrage that people weren't getting vaccinated.

Oh my God. You’re being willfully obtuse at this point. This is basic statistics. The flu was not causing as much overload on hospitals as Covid is. The underlying point that you’re refusing to aknowledge is that Covid is much deadlier and causes way worse symptoms than the flu. That’s why they’re not being treated the same way. You’re not accepting this fact because once you do, you know that your “argument” falls to pieces. You pulled up one article thinking you did something…lol ok.

Nothing I’ve said or done indicates outrage…I’m confused. I’m just commenting. I barely post on here so I haven’t commented on the flu in 2018 or any other time. If that somehow validates your point, then you win I guess.

Vaccination doesn't stop the virus from mutating. Viruses mutate all the time and most mutations don't affect their ability to make people sick. If they do, there's also a chance that the vaccine won't work against them.

Where are you getting your facts from? And yes if they do mutate that means vaccines become less effective which is why it's important not to have a large unvaccinated population.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Wiggins choice is Wiggins choice. Whether its a DUMB decision isn’t the question its whether Draymond or ANY person can make Wiggins do what he doesn’t want to do which he can’t. He’s not Wiggins master.

If Wiggins has seen all the families of people who have died saying they wished their loved ones would have gotten the vaccination, if he’s seen the many nurses and other health care professionals talk about the horrendous ways in which people have died due to covid; begging to take the vaccination as they slip into their final comas, and has read and/or seen the countless doctors who have come forward citing facts about the effectiveness and safety of the vaccine, and he thinks to himself as 26 year old grown ass man that thats the fate he’s ok gambling with. Then thats a choice HE made. That’s not Draymond Green’s responsibility to police another nikka’s life.

And frankly its stupid to even ask him that question. Grill WIGGINS on his own choices not Draymond, who IS vaccinated.
Wiggins has a right to his choice still. Problem is he’s holding shyt up rather than just resigning. Everyone has a choice. Just like every choice has a consequence. :manny:

Flu isn't as deadly, therefore, no mandate.

CDC estimates 79000. And it is only an estimate because flu deaths in adults don't have to be reported to the CDC and testing isn't done nearly as much as it was for corona. The truth is, nobody knows the exact number because nobody ever cared enough to document it thoroughly, unlike with corona. And again, there is no good science behind distinguishing between a death with covid and a death from covid.

Oh my God. You’re being willfully obtuse at this point. This is basic statistics. The flu was not causing as much overload on hospitals as Covid is. You keep trying to make this about numbers as if this is a battle rap between corona and flu with bragging rights at stake. The only reason people are pro-mandate is based on a principle that applies just as much to the flu as it does corona. The numbers are irrelevant. You're projecting with your "willfully obtuse" remark. You can read my posts again if you want to understand the argument. Miss me with the outrage at people who don't want to get this shot if you are not outraged at flu policy.

You guys just want to keep shifting the discussion to distract from the fact that your own pro-mandate stance conflicts with your own actions and beliefs pre-corona media frenzy. You have infected and indirectly killed people with the flu whether you like it or not. Don't get mad at people refusing corona shots now. Get off FB and go outside to breathe fresh air.

CDC estimates 79000.

CDC estimates that the burden of illness during the 2018–2019 season included an estimated 35.5 million people getting sick with influenza, 16.5 million people going to a health care provider for their illness, 490,600 hospitalizations, and 34,200 deaths from influenza.

There is no good reason barring pre-existing conditions to remain unvaccinated to COVID-19.

You should apply the same logic to leaving your house and getting infected smart dumb ass. And to lifestyle choices that leave you at a high risk of actually even being bothered at all by infection. And to not investing in ICUs and hospital personnel because you care more about profits.

Now stfu and accept the consequences of your poor decisions.

:gucci:

Uhh yeah....it is the same logic, just because getting infected is not a favorable consequence, that doesn't mean you don't have the choice of leaving your house... I'm confused. Do you not understand the basic concept of actions and consequences? Or did you miss that lesson in 2nd grade?

Are you asking about covid becoming endemic? Or virus mutation in general?

If the first:
Covid-19 will become endemic but with decreased potency over time, scientists believe

If the second:

They also state the following.....

While there would be a continual risk of covid-19 outbreaks in areas where the virus had been eliminated, these could be stifled quickly by herd immunity if most people had been vaccinated, said Christopher Dye, an epidemiologist at the University of Oxford, UK. He told Nature, “I guess covid will be eliminated from some countries, but with a continuing and maybe seasonal risk of reintroduction from places where vaccine coverage and public health measures have not been good enough.

There's no justification for America's infection/death rates and overrun healthcare system from a preventable disease when vaccines that work are available for free.
