its true. how do you explain KD saying just a week after losing to GS he was watching them in the finals and trying to convince his agent it could be a good move ? this nikka made up his mind a long time prior that is where he was going. he knew he couldn't use the excuse the thunder just werent good enough to win if they beat a 73 win team.
most competitors would've HATED the team they just lost to too much to even think about joining them. but the warriors had been in his ear all year. on a sub conscious level, he threw that shyt.
Durant simply ran out of puff in the back end of that series because he didn't balance out his energy, and Iggy had him locked in a cage over the last 2-3 games.
That was Durant's greatest defensive performance in any series he's been in - anybody that contests he didn't leave it all out there is lying. It's one of the main reasons why his offense suffered, 'cause he was overexerting himself on defense. He was a man possessed on that end, and was arguably the best defender in that series. He wasn't faking that effort. And besides, if he really wanted to go to GS, there's no way in hell he would've helped his team take a 3-1 lead in the first place (sure, win a game or two in a back-and-forth battle, but not go up 3-1) - what's the entire point of tanking three straight games, where all he needed to do was win one. Not only does it not make any sense, but the margin of error in that situation is minute to the point where it's practically impossible for everything to go to plan.
Durant wasn't to know that Curry and Klay would both take turns making improbable shot after improbable shot in G6.
The only way where it could be even remotely believable is if every player and official involved in that series was in on it.
