he couldn't tittle as ''Chronic'' because Suge own the publishing right
Dre had no cjoice but to call his album ''2001''

Of course hard hiphop fans call the album as ''Chronic 2001''
just like the same way some fans call Nas' Untitled album as ''******''

Dre's album was originally called The Chronic 2000. When Suge heard that Dre was making the album, he pieced his bullshyt album together and threw it out before Dre.

So Dre had no choice but to switch it.

Edit: I see what you mean. I never realized he switched it to just 2001.

I've been calling that joint the Chronic 2001 for damn near 20 years.
