that's what i'm saying. people keep debating about who is who's boss and who's getting what percentage, who's stealing from who but the truth is, they both needed each other.I almost agreed with the OP then I started thinking...
Building a valuable brand = Building a valuable product.
Dr. Dre spent decades making GREAT music and building his brand as "the best producer".
Monster spent years building quality headphones.
Separately, they both made their money...BUT when they joined forces, together they're about to make 3.2 billion. I think I was looking at the small picture for a brief second. Its about building powerful partnerships, NOT about doing something individually.
nikkas will drop percentages and all of a sudden think they some "Wall Street" business journalists or something....
Spiteful ass nikkas
Exactly,i see some of these post and be thinkin "I watched Shark Tank last night too nikka
"Sorry, I can't respect your hustle...ITS NOT EVEN YOUR HUSTLE. You got a cac making all your decisions and profiting more off you. From Aftermath, to Beats, Dre is a puppet, not a boss... JAYZ is a boss. Now when he hits a bill, I think that would be truly more deserving and more real.
Why are ppl crowning Dre as the greatest hip hop businessman? I'm not hating, I just hate all the praise hes getting.. its not justified. I'd actually feel embarrassed to call myself a billionaire if I "earned" it like Dre did. Anyone else feel this way?

I guess the video game was not as original as I thought.
I still believe that 50 doesn't go the typical rapper route when it comes to his businesses.I think the most impressive thing about Dre, is that his money, is pretty much all from music whether it be albums or headphones. Its all music related. SC and JZ had to venture outside of it to make money. Nothing wrong with that, but Dre is strictly about music whereas the other two had to do clothes, drinks, sports, etc.Diddy's a Boss.... Jay is nothing but an endorsement man too... He don't own shyt.
Dre is wet behind the ears when it comes to business... When Iovine told him about this idea... The nikka was probably ecstatic just to get 20% of the company and make $100 mil one day.
BEST BELIEVE SEAN COMBS WOULD OWN 51% OF THAT shyt.... NAH... 65%.....
Dre = Created a business from scratch that uses HIS NAME, started with 33% of the company, and now has 16 to 20% of the company...
Diddy = got hired by Ciroc as a spokes person, and now MADE SO MUCH MONEY FOR THEM, he's virtually a fukking part owner.... Don't feel like looking up stats, but I think Diddy get like 50% of profits.. I dunno... something CRAZY.
The point is: Dre MADE his own company, and got less Clout than Diddy got in a company that he JOINED and just "Took Over"
That's the difference. Dre not a business man. Neither is Jay tho (Mr. Barney's collection / .15% of the Nets ass nikka). Diddy is the REAL DEAL.
