Whenever I wear a suit I get 1000x respect from peers.

And idris still gets racists treatment anyways. Hence why they wont make him James Bond.

There is a lot more to making someone James Bond.
Idris is from England

A clean well-cut suit is par for the course.

You would've thought so, wouldn't you...

ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh! this is kind of on the fence however I am a firm believer in self identity. I wear coats and button up and oxford because I like them not because so and so suggest I wear it. When necessary I wear suits and so forth. If I could afford it ( hint, hint) I would wear a tailor suit daily.

I may not agree with some of the stuff these little dudes do ( tight ass jeans, sagging, etc) I cant knock them. Expression has no limits and certainty conforming to cac standards doesn't guarantee shyt.

Fonsworth Hyundai: "Bu bu but, I tip well. It's 2015. I don't like fried chicken, I promise. This my fiance, she's whi----"

Cac: "Security!!! This man is scaring the customers :mjpls:"

Fonsworth Hyundai: "Alright. I'll go. Yelp is gon' hear about this. Watch"

Don't be so obsessed with whether or not what you do is Eurocentric, do what feels natural to you. If you want to dress like you walked out of GQ magazine that's you, if you want to dress up like a dusthead from 1995, that's you too, and whatever levels that lie in between.

Whose dress code are we adhering to?

I wonder who invented suits actually...

Suits are from European fashion but they have permeated into business fashion.

No while people aren't on my mind. I'm just asking what are your thoughts. I like dressing well and prefer it but I do wonder how I would be treated if I didn't.

I do like being the sharpest person though as it is a big fukk you to people lol

Basically this. A racists white person never cares what your wearing. Dont buy into the belief that maybe if you dress different, talk different, walk different, live in a better place, had a more corporate job, a european sports car, different hobbies, maybe then white people will view me differently. Your already mentally broken by believing that the problem lies with you and not them. No. Its all them. Entirely them. You dont have to do anything. White people need therapy and need to change not you. Dont carry the burden that they should be carrying. Dress however you want to.

:banderas: excellent post

there are racial undertones to style of dress to extent, but i think sloppiness is reviled across the spectrum. there are rappers who are killing the "urban" wear, metropolitan vibe (n/h) like future and pharrell.

BTW I dress how I want as it makes me feel more confident. I grew up in the 90s and saw my mom and dad dress up as they had corporate jobs. I also love the black prep look.

Just wondering the implications because I get compliments on how I dress but I guess I got a Dave Chappelle complex or something. When I dress well I just feel prepared and fresh. I'm not doing it to get treated better though I'm strongly aware of it.

It's the skin "they" despise, not the clothes.

A white guy can wear a hoody and go jogging, no problems. Black guy puts on a hoody and he's a thug.
