Man stop with the exaggerating, Ramirez vs Hooker was a 50/50 fight according to most pundits and Ramirez was the betting favorite heading in to the fight, and to keep it a buck most folks haven't even rated Hooker that highly since he got that bs draw on the Ward/Kovalev undercard. Same with the Imam fight, dude got undressed by Granados, it took Don King fukkery for Imam to even get that vacant title shot. Its cool that you're from Fresno and riding for your guy but he's not some plucky underdog.

Nah. Everyone picked Hooker over Ramirez and Ramirez handled him. Most people had him getting beat by Imam and Ramirez handled him too. He keeps getting doubted on this board cause he’s Mexican, but he’s the real deal. Their is a reason he signed the largest first contract since Mayweather when he signed with Top Rank after a good amateur career. I’ve seen this guy train first hand. His strength and conditioning work outs are crazy. He works hard and is a very humble dude. Those body shots ain’t no joke. Regis might not even win that stupid tournament he entered. Jose was smart enough to not get caught up in that bullshyt tournament. He decided to keep fighting and filling up arenas here in Fresno making money and now he has two titles. Only needs Regis’ title now. I understand Jose has his flaws, but his conditioning is crazy.

50 50. Hooker got stopped in 6. Go look at the thread predictions. It was 8 - 0. Nobody here picked Jose. Same with Hooker and Imam. Not many here picked Jose. Yeah I’m going to ride for Jose. I play ball with his promoter, work out with his strength and conditioning coach, and have had lots of conversations with Jose but I call it like I see it. He has his flaws I see them but around here he gets treated like he’s not that good. He gets hyped up by the commentators cause he draws and makes money. Regis needs Jose more then the other way around. That’s why Regis is stuck in a shytty tournament he might not even win and losing money.

@jerniebert I picked Ramirez to win. Regis actually said Hooker was sad, the worst belt holder in boxing BEFORE the Ramirez fight. So I agree Ramirez wasn’t no underdog like that. He’s an Olympian. Both fighters need each other to be real. Make sure you following though I’ve interviewed Jose a few times and covered Hooker Ramirez fight week. Been on ESPN 940 in Fresno too

I agree in the media he's usually viewed as the favorite but around here he is usually the underdog. He's good. Not great yet but I've talked to him before I even knew who he was and he just had this spark and commitment to him. I'm just happy to see him do good. He's a great guy and gives back so much to the community. If he loses it would suck but I have no control over that. I just hope to see him do good and represent himself like he has been. I'm not really a boxing expert. Just a casual fan.

Would love to eventually see him go against Crawford. One of my close friends is from Omaha and knows Crawford so hes been hyping him up for years. I think that fight would draw.
