Dead Prez's music is fine the way it is..
Stic.man is a underrated producer.

To each his own, imo their lyrics were too literal, and the production hasn't aged well. My younger brother (18) is the type to listen to dead prez, and even he makes fun of that walk like a warrior hook. Rage against the machine had a longer lifespan, but that's not really hip hop.

if the rapper doesn’t mention “nikkas” in their song, then I just assume the people they are talking about are the racist enemies…

Think about it, a song like “Extendo” doesn’t mention who is being shot and allows you to fill in the blanks

he’s kinda revolutionary but i feel you

jpeg a wild boy

:stopitslime:

If you really know his music you know that's one of the few songs where he takes that subject matter seriously, his political lyrics are mostly for shock value and as time goes on he's doing less songs like this. He's gone back edited his old mixtapes and edited lyric meanings on rap genius, distanced himself from those lyrics in interviews, I mean didn't he do one with Adam22? :skip:

Look I like Jpeg too but he shouldn't be put in the same lane as Dead Prez.

'Street dudes' are the biggest frauds the Black world has ever seen..absolutely terrified of white people.

The average non street breh isn't scared of cacs because he's educated and has a different outlook and perspective on life.
Street dudes see cacs, they only see prison bars.
That's because every cac they see is a disciplinarian with a system behind them. They in the streets. They know what yield power and what doesn't. But don't think they are scared of any man when you know good and well they aren't
