The game isn't in-depth... Gran Turismo 6 is on ps3 yet far better than driveclub 
My only gripe with Drivelub is that their car list is meh. I'm not an exotic car kinda guy. Gimme more selections of Muscle Cars god dammit
I swear, the only 2 muscle cars I see there (not sure if they added more dlc for it, haven't played it in a while) is the Camaro and Charger

Edit: driveclub ai does not let you catch up if youre losing. Ive never once experienced that. In fact getting a first place finish outside of the first introduction races is hard as shyt.

There is no rubber banding as far as artificially changing a cars attributes. But the A.I. does slow down ahead of you, and play more aggressively when behind. That was admitted by the games director.
