It's weird that Caribbean slang hasn't been in Drake music earlier. From what I've heard Toronto is similar to London in that slang and culture is heavily Caribbean influenced.
cuz he didnt grow up around people who talked like that, he was around the degrassi cacs and his white jew side of the family, u know damn well his mom didnt let him hang around black people, he even admitted on a song they used to make fun of him for being black

it wasnt until he became a famous rapper that he started hanging around black toronto people and he started mimicking the way they talk, and hes late to the party so hes going overboard with it:mjpls:

He's a fraud. Remember when Aubrey tried to get some legendary hip hop validation by hopping on Wu-tang d!ck?:

Ghostface Killah Calls Drake "Brilliant"

Also, Drake has had more legendary hip hop validation than most artists.

One thing I would say is Toronto people mix a lot of patois in their slang. But it always sounds weird and forced lol. It's not like London where it kind of naturally mixes in with the way they talk.

Met a Nigerian from Toronto in LA and he refused to speak broken English with me or put on a Nigerian accent but he kept throwing on this forced ass Jamaican accent. shyt was mad annoying lol

But Drake been forcing the Jamaican shyt for a while tho.

He had American writers before I think

Aswll his popularity in London & Jamaica probably was reason to push in that direction too... It's a good way to differentiate from other rappers and pop artists too imo especially in a game where people will clone your styles with the quickness
