Biggie Facts:

- Although Puffy and Bad Boy marketed Biggie together with Craig Mack, they did NOT get along. They recorded together and went on the road together, but Biggie and Craig Mack had beef. People believe that because Craig Mack blew up first with Flava In Ya Ear that he was jealous of Biggie’s new found success. Biggie dropped Ready To Die and some of the hip hop world forgot about Craig Mack. Bad Boy would never release his second album.

It's because Craig Mack was a devout Christian.

And therefore was no fun.

No, I'm serious.

- J.Cole used to go by the name of Therapist and waited outside of a Jay-Z concert for hours for Jay to come by so Cole could give him a demo. Jay refused. Years later he heard Lights Please and immediately wanted to sign him

- Nas was originally supposed to be featured on the Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill album but never showed up to the studio sessions

- After Stillmatic Nas was going to retire after his next three albums, to be titled The Death Of Escobar, NAStalgia and Nas Writes No More, but eventually changed his mind. The Death Of Escobar album was reworked into what became Gods Son

- Will Smith wasn't in attendance to except the first two Grammy's he won. In 1988 Dj Jazzy Jeff & The Freh Prince boycotted their win for Best Rap Single due to the rap category not being televised. The second time in 1992 they won Best Rap Performance for Summertime but the duo didn't think they were going to win so they didn't attend. DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince were also the first rap act awarded a Grammy

- Michael Jackson once recorded an anti-crack song with Run DMC, who found Michael odd and couldn't relate to him, the song was subsequently shelved and never saw the light of day

- The Source originally wanted to award Outkast's 1994 debut album Southernplayasticcadillacmusic a 5 mic rating but Benzino was hating on Outkast and threw a fit to make it not happen

- Steve Stoute kicked Cormega out of the Firm, not Nas.

- reports that Pete Rock and Nas fell out because Pete Rock slept with Carmen are false. Pete Rock never met Carmen and doesn't know her. Pete and Nas fell out because Nas didn't use any of the beats Rock sent him for It Was Written, Rock felt slighted and was one of the so called "purists" dissing IWW when it was released. Nas didn't speak to Rock for 12 years.

- Reports that Jaz O had a hand in writing Ether are false. Jungle and certain Bravehearts members helped supply lines for Ether and helped Nas omit certain lines. There are reportedly 3 versions of Ether that had to be edited down to their viciousness, Swizz Beats is reportedly the producer of Ether's original version, which to this day has not seen public release

-During the height of the beef, Roc-A-Fella reached out to Cormega to possibly sign him but Mega, knowing that he was being used as a possible pawn turned them down

- Nas's secret nickname for Prodigy was Rat Face

- Havoc shot a Def Jam record label assistant by accident when he was 17, he had no idea the gun was loaded. The next day Prodigy allegedly visited the man in the hospital and convinced him not to press charges

I didn't know the Cormega/Roc thing, Mega seemed to always have some love for Nas deep down even during the issus.

"Death of Escobar" was supposed to come out before "Stillmatic". In was reviewed in "Vibe" magazine in 2000. Of Course Nas could've decided to reuse the name.

Snoop Dogg had planned to release the "Doggumentary EP" & "The Last Meal" in '97 after the disappointing "Doggfather" album. Songs from those albums turned up on "Dead Man Walkin" & "Snoop Doggy Dogg's" greatest hits.

He also had a movie called "Corleone's Revenge" which I don't think anyone has ever seen.

I didn't know the Cormega/Roc thing, Mega seemed to always have some love for Nas deep down even during the issus.

Yea he spoke on it in an interview (with Ahh if I'm not mistaken) said he already knew what it was when they tried to talk to him about it. Said he had respect for Jay but would rather stay on his independent grind...

Some more facts

- After Illmatic dropped and Nas went on tour, he and Jungle would come home with suitcases full of money. He didn't have a bank account until sometime after I Am dropped, Nas would keep suitcases full of money under the bed at he and Carmen's apartment

- After Nature's diss to Nas called Nas is Not dropped. Nature got his head stomped into the curve in Queensbridge for rapping that Nas didn't take care of Ill Will's mom and she was still broke in the hood. Nature then moved to Marcy

- Jimmy Iovine had several conversations with Nas throughout the 90's trying to get him to sign to Interscope

-Black Thought was going to release a solo album called Masterpiece Theater but decided not too once the label informed him that it wouldn't count against the Groups contractual album agreement. That album became the group's Phrenology

-Method Man threatened to kill Wendy Williams after she revealed live on air that Meth's wife was suffering from Cancer. Her own family members didn't even know at the time..

- Ghostface Killah was a major dust head and would wild out and whoop nikkas asses and do crazy shyt. Dude wasn't allowed at any hotels or motels so one time an executive at Loud records let Ghostface spend the night at his crib. Ghost was hungry and got some Kentucly Fried Chicken, two days later the exec went to find that Ghost had buried the Kentucky Fried Chicken box in his back yard

- RZA caught a body and got off on self defense

- Raekwon and Ghostface once tied a dude up in their car and whooped his ass in the early 90's. Years later at the release of Shaolin Vs. Wu-Tang Raekwon is doing a radio interview and the guy calls up and reminds Rae of the time they whopped his ass

- Ghostface and Raekwon wrote their verses to Verbal Intercourse on a beach in Hawaii

- Method Man was supposed to be on Suspect off It Was Written but he and Nas could never connect

- Rae and Ghost hated Biggie and didn't want Method Man to collab with him on The What but Meth didn't give a fukk and thought Biggie was dope

- Biggie wanted Dr. Dre to produce on Life After Death

-Ludacris started out as DJ in Chicago

- Scarface wanted to an album with Ice Cube and Nas

-Nas was in the studio while Kelis and Andre 3000 were working on a song called "Hip Hop Is Dead and R&B Is Dead" he liked the title and stole it, hence 2006's Hip Hop Is Dead
