If you have to explain your art, then it missed its mark

I usually agree with this stance when it's "contemporary art" bs but I'm surprised so many people are missing the point of this picture. I'm not sure how people can think they're mocking the dead kid, they're criticizing Europe and its hyper consumerism (hence the McDonalds sign) being more important than the kid's life.
