Without any context but the top ten percent is ambiguous, any man that can take good photos, and he looks successful will on average get more likes. Men on the apps will select with a scarcity mindset with the hope of getting a match. Which means the average woman is bombarded with interest. It is human nature, when you are bombarded with options you are more likely to be more picky.
