CONWAY, S.C. - A boyfriend who busted in on a man trying to sexually assault his girlfriend attacked the suspect shortly after the new year began, Conway Police say.

On Thursday at less than an hour after the new year, officers with the Conway Police Department responded to a house on Hwy 905 in reference to a sexual assault. Upon arrival officers were advised by the victim that the suspect had sexually assaulted her.

The police report indicates a 21-year-old female and her 27-year-old boyfriend came home to a house they share with others. The boyfriend left for a while and when he returned he discovered the door was closed to the room he shared with his girlfriend, police said in a report.

The boyfriend heard moaning coming from the room, kicked in the door and found William Mattson, 52, on top of his girlfriend, police said.

Mattson told police the woman was naked under blankets and that they hugged and kissed. But the woman said the encounter was not consensual.

The boyfriend reportedly struck Mattson with a closed fist several times. Police say when they arrived Mattson was bleeding from his lips and mouth and his left eye was swollen shut.

Conway Police charged Mattson, from Conway, with criminal sexual conduct 1st degree and took him to Conway Medical Center and then to J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

A VHS video tape was seized by police during the arrest, according to the police report. Police did not indicate why it was taken as part of the investigation.

I just hope she wasn't caught in the act of ringing in the New Year with some thottery n she tried to get out of it by saying she was raped something to consider :skeptical:

Upon arrival officers were advised by the victim that the suspect had sexually assaulted her. The suspect was still on scene and was arrested and transported to J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

The suspects injuries were received prior to officers arriving on scene by someone acting in defense for the victim.

It's not far fetch for that to happen as it has certainly happen before. Still don't blame the boyfriend for doing what he did though. However is it's determine his girl was lying, then he should cut bate. He will have plenty of girls lined up at his door b/c a lot of women love a man that will stand up for them.
