People use facebook and instagram instead of phone numbers because the person can learn everything about you in less than 10 mins. It's not like the old days when you sit on the phone and get to know the person your interested in; like you ask them what type of food do you like, you dont have to do that you can go to their facebook page. You have to remember this is the age of 'I want to know it now,' so people want to know about your right now ie. speed dating.

I don't have have a facebook or instagram and female look at me crazy and ask how to I keep in contact with my friends. I just say I use this thing called a cell phone; I make a call to see how there doing.

Also the rule of instagram and facebook for men is; if her page is private that means she's a hoe

It's disappointing to me. I enjoy getting to know each other, you can't learn everything from looking at Facebook and instagram. I guess this doesn't matter really because anytime someone asks for a social profile in lieu of a phone number they get the immediately. I don't have any anyway so they usually walk away after that anyway. Y'all act like dudes like that, I've gotten the opposite, they don't even want to be bothered with me . My friend told me I should make one so I can meet some people. I did make an okcupid profile , a coli member sent me a message too .

I get the same thing when I tell people I don't have social media. They're like how do you keep in touch with people are you weird?

Yes I'm weird , and I use this crazy thing called speech. Coupled with this fancy cell phone I have, I'd like to think I'm a communications master.

But the thing is that instagram and facebook; even these forums made people socially awkward because there use to talking to people through a screen. So when you talk face to face or even on the phone they can not understand how your going to react because they have not experienced human reaction. So that's why when you say something you will probably see a blank look on their face because they do not know how to express their emotions without a smiles like

Everyones personality is technically a facade. Its the way we choose to present ourselves, and instagram gives people a lot of incite into that.

if a chick has an instagram filled with full body pics of her posing, you know she wants to present herself to the world as sexy or into fitness.

if a chick has an instagram full of nature pics then you know she wants to present herself as a nature person

if a chick has an instagram full of party pictures you know she wants to present herself as a party girl.

if a chick has a crappy instagram filled with random pics you know she doesn't really care too much about how she presents herself at all.

The way you choose to present yourself to the outside world says a lot about the person you are.

For the simple fact that most people are not who they present themselves to be at all. A lot of psychology in social media. Id agree tha tit present the type of personality you want to exude but not something as specific as the type of person they are.

Like I read some captions and know a chick is trying to exude confidence in herself. But I might actually know her and know she has no confidence. What is she gonna do, post that shes awkward and unconfident? lol

to the OP, asking for pics is a way to gauge interest.

You meet a guy and you're texting each other, and he just randomly sends an unsolicited picture (no dikk pic ). Why? That's so weird to me. Why do y'all ask for us to send a picture? Not even a sexy picture just a random picture. What do you do with the picture? Why?! I never send the pictures and then I get no more replies
