@DrX I always like your threads, usually asks a question I have/had in mind at one point or another.
I would write a dissertation, but I'm typed out from The Root so I'll say this.
Having the internet at your fingertips is both a blessing and a curse.
You have a wealth of information to sift through. Some good, some bad, some intentionally misleading.
At the end of the day, you need to put all this information to use for yourself. But how?
Some may tell you join a group of like minded people, others will point to schools, programs, certs etc.
I can pull up 100s of different ways to make money. I've seen a few threads here that were pretty good.
But not all if any, will work for you. Location, timing, age, certs, education, etc. You need a framework. What do you want to do in life?
Leave money off the table.
The goal is just as important as the journey.
Do not let your frustration blind you to
any gems, no matter how small. They could lead to something.
As for lack of info, they have been led to believe that in not sharing, they own it. Some are fearful and others arrogant, find others in the circle who are willing to share. Leave the rest.
As I am not successful yet, I can't go farther without being disingenuous.
